Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet Potato Fries are lower in carbohydrates. They could replace regular potatoes in Keto diets. These days, many supermarkets offer freshly cut sweet potato fries, But there is nothing more satisfying than trying to cut fries from something so irregularly shaped as a sweet potato.

Cooking temperatures and times vary with the thickness of the fry.

Sweet potatoes contain about 21% of carbohydrates.

  1. Preheat your oven to 200° Celsius (approx. 400° Fahrenheit).
  2. Make sure your fries are dry, use kitchen paper if necessary to pad them dry. In a bowl, add a few tablespoons of vegetable oil, some pinches of paprika, black pepper and kitchen salt. Mix, add the potatoes and stir until each fry is covered. Nothing is more satisfying then mixing with your bare hands.
  3. Cover your baking tray with greaseproof paper. Spread the fries out, making sure they are not on top of each other.
  4. Place in oven and cook for 20 - 25 minutes. If you feel like it, you can turn each individual fry over by hand after 15 minutes for a more even crispiness.
